Getting Started with Your Alocity AiVR Intelligent Video Recorder
Welcome to the Alocity AiVR Installation Guide! In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to properly install and prepare your Alocity AiVR to ensure a smooth video system deployment and integration with the Alocity Control Center. Follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1: Conduct a Site Survey
Before installing your Alocity AiVR, conduct a site survey to determine the following:

The number and location of IP cameras that will be connected

Whether the AiVR will connect to a PoE switch or an isolated network segment

Where the AiVR will be installed (preferably an IT room, cabinet, or rack)

Whether your setup will use local storage, cloud storage, or a hybrid of both
Step 2: Installation Prerequisites
Ensure the following conditions are met before starting the installation:

Installation must be performed by a certified technician

Power Requirement:

AiVR8 12V – 5A (60W) external power supply (included)*
- AiVR16 24V - 5A (120W) external power supply (included)*

Connect the power supply to a 120V/240V~1.7A to 2.0A outlet using a voltage regulator, professional-grade power strip, or UPS for optimal protection and backup

Wired Ethernet connection is required for setup — DHCP or Static IP supported

The AiVR must be on the same local network as all connected IP cameras

All cameras must be RTSP compliant.

An active internet connection is required for remote management via the Alocity Portal

You must have an Alocity Control Center admin account to proceed with setup
Step 3: Parts Included
Ensure the following components are included in the AiVR packaging:

1x Alocity AiVR Unit

1x 12V Power Supply
Step 4: Required Tools and Environment
Prepare the following tools and installation environment:

Access to a 120V AC power outlet

Network switch or router with at least one available Ethernet port

Rack, cabinet, or ventilated surface with stable airflow and minimal dust
Note: The AiVR is fully managed through the Alocity Control Center. A local monitor, mouse, or keyboard is not required for configuration or operation.
