Before You Start

Getting Started with Your Alocity AiVR Intelligent Video Recorder

Welcome to the Alocity AiVR Intelligent NVR (Cloud Bridge - AI Analytics Server) Installation Guide! In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to properly install and prepare your Alocity AiVR to ensure a smooth video system deployment and integration with the Alocity Control Center. Follow the steps below to get started.

Step 1: Conduct a Site Survey

Before installing your Alocity AiVR, conduct a site survey to determine the following:

  • The number and location of IP cameras that will be connected

  • Whether the AiVR will connect to a PoE switch or an isolated network segment

  • Where the AiVR will be installed (preferably an IT room, cabinet, or rack)

  • Whether your setup will use local storage, cloud storage, or a hybrid of both

Step 2: Installation Prerequisites

Ensure the following conditions are met before starting the installation:

  • Installation must be performed by a certified technician

  • Power Requirement:

    • AiVR8 12V – 5A (60W) external power supply (included)*

    • AiVR16 24V - 5A (120W) external power supply (included)*
  • Connect the power supply to a 120V/240V~1.7A to 2.0A outlet using a voltage regulator, professional-grade power strip, or UPS for optimal protection and backup

  • Wired Ethernet connection is required for setup — DHCP or Static IP supported

  • The AiVR must be on the same local network as all connected IP cameras

  • All cameras must be RTSP compliant.

  • An active internet connection is required for remote management via the Alocity Portal

  • You must have an Alocity Control Center admin account to proceed with setup

*IMPORTANT NOTICE: Using a power supply other than the one provided may cause damage to the device and void the warranty.

Ensure the following components are included in the AiVR packaging:

  • 1x Alocity AiVR Unit

  • 1x 12V Power Supply

Step 4: Required Tools and Environment

Prepare the following tools and installation environment:
