Connecting a Door Contact

How to connect the Alocity F3D100 Reader to a door contact

Door contacts, also known as door sensors, are essential components of access control systems, as they help monitor the status of doors (open or closed). When connecting a door contact to your Alocity F3D100 Reader or access control system, follow the manufacturer's wiring and configuration instructions to ensure proper functionality. Properly connected door contacts provide valuable feedback on door status and can trigger alarms or other actions if a door is left open, forced open, or closed improperly.

Follow these steps to properly wire the Alocity F3D100 Reader to a Door Contact:

  1. Locate the set of wires with black shrink tubing.
  2. Connect the Input 2 (White) wire to the positive (+) wire on the door contact.
  3. Connect the Ground (Brown/Yellow) wire to the negative (-) wire on the door contact.

Note: To configure the Door Contact  in your access control system, please consult the Alocity Software User Guide. This guide provides clear instructions on how to set up and adjust the Exit/REX button settings within the software to ensure proper functionality and security.
