All agents in this article are configured in **Settings** (⚙ in the top bar) › **AI Video Agent**. People Counting Counts people crossing a line in each direction (IN and OUT). - **Configuration type**: [Line](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **IN**/**OUT** direction and optional **Groups** to combine several entrances - **Common uses**: Store and building traffic, occupancy, comparing entrances - **Camera tips**: Mount high and looking down at the doorway; draw the line across the full width of the entrance. ### 2. People Queue Monitoring Tracks wait times, queue lengths and movement speed for people. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **Enable Alerts Conditions**: set a maximum count and time. - **Common uses**: Checkout lines, ticket counters, reception and security screening - **Camera tips**: Cover the whole queue in one zone, from the front of the line to where it ends at its longest. ### 3. Unattended Workstation Triggers an alert when a workstation or staffed area is left unattended for too long. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **Time**: how long the area can be empty. - **Common uses**: Reception desks, guard posts, cashier stations and control rooms - **Camera tips**: Draw the zone over where the staff member stands or sits, not the whole room. ### 4. People Dwell Time Analysis Tracks how long people stay in certain zones. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: Zone name and schedule - **Common uses**: Retail displays, kiosks, lobbies and waiting areas - **Camera tips**: Use one zone per area you want to compare. ### 5. Heatmaps Shows where people spend the most time, using color-coded maps based on movement and activity. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: Object classes **Person**, **Vehicle** and **Animals** - **Common uses**: Store layout, foot-traffic patterns and space planning - **Camera tips**: Use a fixed, wide view that covers the whole floor area. --- > **Note:** Results for these agents appear under **AI Insight** in the left menu, where some names differ: People Counting appears as People Counting & Occupancy Insights, People Queue Monitoring as People Queue Insights, and People Dwell Time Analysis as Dwell Time & Engagement Analytics. --- ### 6. Setting Up an Agent 1. Click **Settings** (⚙ in the top bar) › **AI Video Agent** and click the agent's card. 2. Click an unconfigured camera in the camera grid. 3. Draw the zone or line, or click **Activate** for whole-frame agents. 4. Set the zone options and the schedule, then click **Save**. 5. Click the **bell** on the configured camera to create an alert.
