All agents in this article are configured in **Settings** (⚙ in the top bar) › **AI Video Agent**. Vehicle Counting Counts and logs the number of vehicles entering or exiting a zone. - **Configuration type**: [Line](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **IN**/**OUT** direction and optional **Groups** - **Common uses**: Parking occupancy, garage entrances, gate traffic - **Camera tips**: Draw the line across the full lane at a right angle to traffic. ### 2. Wrong Way Detection Triggers alerts when a vehicle moves in the wrong direction within a lane or designated path. - **Configuration type**: [Line](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: Draw a line along the path, using the arrow to show the direction of the traffic flow violation - **Common uses**: One-way garage ramps, drive-throughs and entry/exit lanes - **Camera tips**: Raise the frame rate to 20–30 fps so tracking keeps up with moving vehicles. ### 3. Vehicle Idle Time Detects when a vehicle stays parked or idling in a zone longer than a defined threshold. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **Time** threshold. - **Common uses**: Fire lanes, loading zones, pickup areas and gates - **Camera tips**: Draw the zone over the no-parking area only. ### 4. Stop Sign Violation Detects when a vehicle fails to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. - **Configuration type**: [Line](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) (two lines) - **Settings**: Draw two lines: one directly over the stop line and another a few feet before it, in the direction of traffic - **Common uses**: Campus roads, parking lot exits and school zones - **Camera tips**: Use 20–30 fps and a view along the lane. ### 5. Sidewalk Vehicle Detection Detects scooters, motorcycles or bicycles driving on sidewalks or pedestrian-only zones. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: Zone name and schedule - **Common uses**: Campus walkways, plazas and building entrances - **Camera tips**: Draw the zone over the sidewalk only, not the road beside it. ### 6. Vehicle Queue Monitoring Tracks wait times, queue lengths and movement speed for vehicles. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: **Enable Alerts Conditions**: set a maximum count and time - **Common uses**: Drive-throughs, toll and security gates, pickup lines - **Camera tips**: Cover the full length of the queue lane. ### 7. Vehicle Dwell Time Analysis Tracks how long vehicles stay in certain zones. - **Configuration type**: [Area](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/e.-ai-agent-configuration-types-area-line-and-whole-frame?hsLang=en) - **Settings**: Zone name and schedule - **Common uses**: Short-term parking, service bays and loading docks - **Camera tips**: Use one zone per space or area you want to measure. --- > **Note:** Results appear under **AI Insight**, where Vehicle Counting appears as Vehicle Counting & Occupancy Insights and Vehicle Queue Monitoring as Vehicle Queue Insights. --- ### 8. Setting Up an Agent 1. Click **Settings** (⚙ in the top bar) › **AI Video Agent** and click the agent's card. 2. Click an unconfigured camera in the camera grid. 3. Draw the zone or line, or click **Activate** for whole-frame agents. 4. Set the zone options and the schedule, then click **Save**. 5. Click the **bell** on the configured camera to create an alert.
