Monitor camera activity in real time or review recorded events using the Alocity Control Center.
The Cameras section in the Alocity Control Center gives operators access to both live camera thumbnails and advanced AI event logs. Here’s how to use these views effectively:
1. Navigation to Camera Monitoring
-
From the side menu, select the Cameras.
-
This view displays the full grid of registered cameras across sites.
-
Use the List or Thumbnail toggle at the top right to switch how cameras are displayed.
-
Clicking a camera thumbnail or name opens that camera’s full screen view.
Note: Simply accessing Live View does not activate any AI event monitoring. For motion- or AI-based recordings to be visible, ensure AI detection events are enabled under camera settings.
2. Switching Between Activity and History
-
Once inside the camera view, the bottom of the screen includes two main tabs: Activity and History.
-
Activity shows AI-triggered clips (like People, Vehicles, or Animals) based on detection filters.
-
History allows you to scroll through recorded segments regardless of AI detections.
3. AI Event Filters (Activity Tab)
-
Use the dropdown menu to filter events by type (e.g., People, Vehicle, or Animals).
- This view displays the full grid of thumbnails with a snapshot of the motion triggered event.
-
Hover over to preview the clip.
-
Click to access the clip, were you will have the following options
- Playback options: play-pause, rewind or fast forward 10 second segments, adjust playback speed and activate sound
- Media player options: take a photo, toggle events, share or download or toggle fullscreen
4. Playback Options (History Tab)
-
In the History tab, you can:
-
Select a date from the calendar view.
-
Choose playback clips segmented into 5, 10, or 20 minute intervals.
- Hover over to preview the clip. Each segment in History can be fast-forwarded or rewound within its clip for a fast search.
-
Click to access the clip, were you will have the following options
- Playback options: play-pause, rewind or fast forward 10 second segments, adjust playback speed and activate sound

5. Enabling AI Detection (Camera Event Settings)
-
Go back to the Cameras grid view.
-
Click the three-dot icon to display the menu on any camera and select Change Event Settings.
-
Ensure appropriate detection types are enabled (e.g., Person Detection, Face Detection, etc.).
-
Hit Update to apply.
Only after these detection options are enabled will AI events be captured and shown in the Activity tab.
6. Camera Health and Labeling
-
In the same menu, you can also:
-
Rename the camera for easier identification.
-
Run a Health Check to verify that the camera is connected and streaming.
-
Use this guide to properly navigate and enable intelligent monitoring features across your site.
Performance Notes
-
A strong, stable internet connection is recommended for smooth live video playback.
-
Live view does not include PTZ or zoom controls unless your camera hardware supports it natively through ONVIF and is properly configured.
