Installing the F3D100 Reader

Pre-Installation Guidelines & Positioning Requirements

Before mounting the device, verify that the installation path adheres to standard height
regulations and ambient environment considerations:

• Standard Mounting Height: The Alocity F3D100 Reader must be installed on a level surface with the height of the device positioned exactly 54” from the finished floor. This standardized placement ensures an optimal field-of-view tracking height for the 3D Face Recognition engine and remains ADA compliant.

• Sun Positioning & Exposure Considerations: Because the F3D100 features an intelligent camera array used for facial recognition and cloud video recording, ambient light distribution is critical to system accuracy.
  

Please Consider the following:

1. Avoid Direct Backlighting: Do not install the reader directly opposite intensive, direct sunlight sources or reflective glass panes where strong backlighting migh silhouette user faces.

2. Overhead Protection: For external exposures experiencing intense afternoon or morning sun angles, utilize a protective overhang or position the reader to face away from raw, blinding solar exposure to maximize the performance of the optical capture sensors. 

Option 1: Install the F3D100 Reader on a Mullion or Wall

1. Use the provided screws (A) to attach the mounting plate (B) to the wall.
2. Snap in the F3D100 reader (C) onto the mounting plate.
3. Strip and connect the wires if necessary, then provision the device.
4. Secure the reader with the security set screw (F).
   
   

Option 2: Install the F3D100 Reader on a Single Gang Box

1. Install a recessed single gang box into the wall.
2. Use the provided screws (A) to attach the mounting plate (B) to the gang box.
3. Snap in the F3D100 reader (C) onto the mounting plate.
4. Strip and connect the wires if necessary, then provision the device.
5. Secure the reader with the security set screw (F).
