Alocity Intercom AI-1000 Network Requirements

How to Ensure Your Device is Connected and Operating Efficiently

To ensure that your Alocity Intercom system operates smoothly and efficiently, it’s crucial to meet the necessary network requirements. This guide will help you set up and configure your network for optimal performance.

1. Ethernet Connection

  • An Ethernet connection with DHCP should be used to connect the Access Control Unit (ACU) to the Local Area Network (LAN).

2. Firewall Settings

  • Configure your firewall settings to enable communication with the Alocity system. The following inbound and outbound ports must be open:
    • TCP Port 443 & 8883
    • NTP Port 123
    • RTSP Port 554

3. Optimal Device Performance Recommendations

  • For stable connections and optimal results with the device, it is recommended that each device maintains an internet service speed within the 10 to 25 Mbps range for both download and upload.

To ensure this bandwidth is stable:

    • Measure Jitter: Regularly measure jitter to assess the stability of the connection.
    • Inspect Wiring: Conduct physical inspections of the wiring to avoid false contacts on the Ethernet pin or internal lines.
    • Direct Connection Testing: For testing purposes, connect the device directly to the internet source to verify the connection quality.

Adhering to these guidelines will help maintain consistent performance and reliability of the device.
