[Aimee](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/alocity-control-center-guide?hsLang=en#aimee) # What Is Aimee? ## Meet Alocity's AI Operator: What Aimee Is, How to Open Her and What to Know Before You Start Aimee is Alocity's built-in AI operator. Instead of clicking through menus, you ask Aimee in plain language — "Who has access to the server room?" or "Show me anyone in a blue shirt near the loading dock yesterday" — and she searches your access logs, audit trail, schedules, devices and camera video to answer. She can also make changes for you, such as editing a schedule or adding a holiday, after you confirm them. --- ### 1. See [Asking Aimee Questions](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/asking-aimee-questions?hsLang=en). - **Searching video**: finding people by description, such as clothing, across every camera, with playback right in the conversation. - **Making changes**: updating doors, schedules, holidays and users through confirmation cards. See [Making Changes with Aimee](https://help.alocity.com/knowledge/making-changes-with-aimee?hsLang=en). - **Spotting problems**: Aimee often flags issues you didn't ask about, such as offline panels, schedules with no doors, or a test schedule protecting a real door. - **Working with files**: Aimee can create CSV exports, charts and import templates, and read the Excel or CSV files you attach, for example to add hundreds of users with cards at once. Click **Ask Aimee** (bottom right of the screen) to open the Aimee panel. 3. What You Should Know First - **Aimee uses your permissions.** She can see and change only what your role allows. A Dashboard user can't use Aimee to edit schedules. - **Everything Aimee does can still be done by hand.** Aimee is a faster way to work, not a replacement for the Control Center's pages. - **Nothing changes without your confirmation.** Every change appears as a confirmation card with **Yes** and **No, cancel**. Nothing is applied until you click Yes. - **Aimee works with your Alocity data only.** She can't reach other systems or the internet. - **She tells you when data is missing.** If she can't answer fully, for example because a panel is offline and its events haven't reached the cloud, she says so and offers another way to find out. - **Check important answers.** Aimee separates what the logs show from what she infers, but a first answer can be wrong. Ask a follow-up such as "Are you sure? Check the audit trail." --- ### 4. Try These First 1. "Run a full system checkup and list anything that needs attention, ranked by priority." 2. "Who was the first to enter the building today?" 3. "Who has access to \[door\], through which groups and schedules? Flag anything that looks wrong." 4. "Show me who changed anything in the system in the last 7 days. Summarize by person and type of change." 5. "Investigate the denied access events at \[door\] on \[date\] around \[time\]. Who was involved, why were they denied, and what should I do next?" 6. "Show me a bald guy today." (Short video searches work well when the time window is tight.) > **Tip:** Use real names for doors, people, schedules and sites, or an email address for a person (it's an exact match). You can also pick items with the **#** mention selector, and attach photos or files to your message.
