 F. Alocity AI Core Detection Agents

Object Detection, Face Recognition, License Plate Recognition, Person of Interest and License Plate of Interest

Core Detection agents are the foundation of Alocity's video AI. They detect and identify the people, vehicles, animals, faces and license plates the other agents build on. In the Control Center they appear under Core Detection Settings.

All agents in this article are configured in Settings (⚙ in the top bar) › AI Video Agent. For how to draw zones and lines, set schedules and activate cameras, see AI Agent Configuration Types: Area, Line and Whole Frame. To be notified when an agent detects something, see AI Alerts.

1. Object Detection

Detects and tracks people, vehicles and animals.

  • Configuration type: Area (set from the camera page under Motion › ⚙)
  • Settings: Object classes Person, Vehicle and Animals
  • Common uses: Searchable motion history for every camera; the base for AI Search and Aimee
  • Camera tips: 1080p at 15 fps covers most scenes. Typically enabled on every camera.

2. Face Recognition

Detects and identifies people by recognizing their faces on camera.

  • Configuration type: Area
  • Settings: Zone name and schedule
  • Common uses: Identifying staff, residents and visitors at entrances; finding a person across cameras
  • Camera tips: Plan for 250 pixels per meter on faces. Mount at face height and aim at the path people walk toward the camera; avoid strong backlight.

3. License Plate Recognition

Detects and logs known or unknown license plates.

  • Configuration type: Area
  • Settings: Zone name and schedule
  • Common uses: Logging every vehicle at a gate, garage or drive-through
  • Camera tips: 1080p or higher. Aim tight and head-on at the lane, with WDR on and about 3,000 kbps at 1080p.

4. Person of Interest

Detects and tracks people of interest in the camera view.

  • Configuration type: Whole Frame (Activate)
  • Settings: None on the camera; people of interest are managed in the platform under People on left hand menu
  • Common uses: Alerting when a banned or flagged person appears
  • Camera tips: Same as Face Recognition: identification-level detail on faces.

5. License Plate of Interest

Detects and tracks license plates of interest in the camera view.

  • Configuration type: Whole Frame (Activate)
  • Settings: None on the camera; plates of interest are managed in the platform under LPR on left hand menu.
  • Common uses: Alerting when a flagged vehicle arrives
  • Camera tips: Same as License Plate Recognition.
