How to Physically Install and Power Your Alocity AiVR
The Alocity AiVR is designed for fast deployment in professional IT environments such as network racks, cabinets, or secured utility rooms. This section outlines how to properly install and connect the unit.
1. Mounting Location Recommendations
-
Install the AiVR on a rack shelf, ventilated cabinet, or stable flat surface inside an IT or network room
-
The device includes an internal fan for active cooling and features a heat-dissipation grill on the top panel
-
Ensure the top of the unit is not covered or obstructed, and allow at least a few inches of clearance for proper airflow
-
Avoid closed or unventilated enclosures that could lead to overheating
-
Do not install the AiVR in outdoor or semi-exposed environments
2. Power Connection
-
Use the included power supply to power the unit
-
Connect the power supply to a 120/240V AC outlet
-
We strongly recommend plugging into a voltage regulator, professional-grade power strip, or UPS to ensure clean and stable power delivery
3. Network Connection
-
Connect the AiVR to your local network via Ethernet
-
Use a standard Cat5e or better cable connected to a router or switch with internet access
-
The AiVR must be on the same network segment as the cameras to be managed
-
Internet connectivity is required for remote management, live cloud streaming, and event delivery to the Alocity Portal
Note: The AiVR is configured exclusively through the Alocity Control Center. There is no local GUI interface.
4. LED and Port Reference
(Insert annotated image of AiVR ports and LED indicators if available)
-
