How to set up and configure your Alocity AiVR (Artificial Intelligence NVR and Cloud Bridge) and begin monitoring as quickly as possible

Please note that the installation of your Alocity AiVR device should be performed by a professional technician. The following instructions are intended for experienced users who wish to set up the Alocity AiVR system quickly and efficiently, typically for testing or initial configuration purposes. These instructions do not provide all the information required for a full installation.

Quick start instructions:

Follow these instructions to guide you to a quick setup of your Alocity System:

  1. Create Your Account and Provision the Device Before you can configure your AiVR device, you must have an active Alocity Control Center account and your device already provisioned to it. Follow these steps to create an account and provision the devices to the account. 
    NOTE: If the account owner is not available to perform the initial account setup described in this step, please contact our support team or your account manager.
  2. Verifying Network Requirements and installing the AiVR. Ensure cameras and AiVR are on the same LAN, DHCP is enabled, and internet access is stable. Please note that your device will include a power source for installation, if otherwise please refrain from using a third party adapter and report immediately. 
  3. Once your master admin software account is properly set and your device is connected, you can proceed to log in and set up your system to enroll admin users and add the cameras. Refer to Admin User Management to enroll additional users who need software access (Such as clerk desk assistants or security guards), and navigate to Camera Connection And Provisioning to add cameras.
  4. Monitoring and Live Operations Once cameras are added and your users are set up, begin using the system for monitoring:
    1. Use Live View and AI Event Monitoring to toggle between activity/history and open live feeds. Make sure to refer to the article to know how activate the events, otherwise the AI will not activate.
    2. Create Video Walls to monitor multiple feeds simultaneously.
    3. Use AI Search to investigate activity using AI search terms. Results can be filtered by date, site, and camera. This feature is under active development and expands regularly.
  5. Final Testing: Confirm your cameras are online and logging activity. Perform a basic search or monitor activity live to verify system performance (cameras might take from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to connect live view and AI events might take from 10 to 30 minutes to report). If issues occur, contact support.
