Simultaneously view multiple camera feeds for proactive security monitoring
The Video Wall feature in Alocity allows operators to actively monitor live camera streams in a flexible, customizable layout. It’s designed to help front desks, guards, and security managers supervise key areas in real time—from one screen, without switching back and forth between cameras.
Creating and Configuring a Video Wall
To get started:
-
Go to the Cameras section in the main navigation panel.
-
Click Video Wall in the left-hand menu.
-
Click the plus (+) icon to create a new wall.
-
Choose a layout: you can select from 4, 6, 9, or more viewing slots depending on your needs.
-
Assign a name to the wall and click Add.
Each wall saves its camera layout and can be renamed or deleted at any time.
Assigning Cameras and Live Monitoring
-
After creating the wall, select the desired site on the right-hand panel.
-
Available cameras will appear in the list—drag and drop them into open slots.
-
Each camera feed loads into its frame with status indicators (e.g., connection, mute).
-
Click the full screen icon for immersive monitoring when needed.
-
To remove a camera, click the trash icon on the frame.
This interface allows operators to passively observe multiple areas and take action when necessary.
Extending Beyond the Layout Limit
Each Video Wall can support a fixed number of live feeds based on the selected layout.
If you need to monitor more than 16 cameras simultaneously, simply open multiple browser tabs, each with a different wall or layout. This enables you to run parallel monitoring sessions—ideal for large campuses or high-traffic buildings with several critical zones.
You can also create separate walls grouped by location (e.g., Warehouse Entry, Parking Lot, Main Office) and open them side-by-side on extended displays.
Best Practices
-
Create dedicated walls for high-priority zones or incident-prone areas.
-
Use full screen mode for centralized surveillance stations.
-
Rotate walls or tabs throughout a shift to ensure complete coverage.
-
Combine with AI search or alerts for incident response workflows.
