What Aimee Can Do

Capabilities by Area, Changes Aimee Can Make, and Current Limits

Aimee can help across the whole Alocity platform. This article lists what she does best in each area, what she can't do, and an example prompt to try. She works within your role's permissions, so you may not be able to do everything listed here.

Note: Anything that changes your system shows a confirmation card first. See Making Changes with Aimee. For more example prompts, see Aimee Prompt Library.

1. Video and visual search

  • Best at: Find people by clothing or appearance, vehicles by color and type (even without a plate), and plates by number. Build a timeline for a camera and time window. Play footage inline. Count detections per camera.
  • Can't do: Identify a person by clothing alone(It will pull everything with desired results, once you find a face it will make investigations faster.

"Find a person in a dark polo and black backpack on the Lobby camera today."

2. Access control and doors

  • Best at: Show who used a door in a time window, denied attempts grouped by door and reason, and a user's last entry. Unlock a door momentarily, keep it unlocked until you lock it, change its unlock time, or start a lockdown.
  • Can't do: Unlock for a custom number of seconds (unlock uses the door's release time) she can send unlock Pulses.

"Show denied access attempts at Alocity HQ for the last 30 days, grouped by door."

3. Users and credentials

  • Best at: Look up a user's role, status, credentials and face enrollment. Count users by site and status. Find inactive users with active credentials. Add cards, PINs and other credentials, one at a time or in bulk.
  • Can't do: Show a PIN's value (PINs are generated and never displayed), or recover a deleted user.

"Which inactive users still have active credentials?"

4. Devices and hardware

  • Best at: Report offline devices by site, run a health check on a panel, show firmware versions and a panel's topology (modules, readers, locks and inputs). Rename devices and reboot panels.
  • Can't do: Repair network or power faults, or factory reset a panel (that's done at the hardware).

"Run a health check on Default Device 00009 and tell me why it's offline."

5. Schedules, groups and holidays

  • Best at: List incomplete schedules and what each is missing. Show a user's schedules and a group's members. Create schedules, attach groups and doors, and add holidays.
  • Can't do: Make a schedule work without people and doors attached. Decide which schedules are "test" ones for you.

"List incomplete schedules and what each one is missing."

6. Alerts and AI events

  • Best at: Count alerts by type or hour, list offline alerts, find AI events such as loitering on a camera, and compare offline devices with alerts to find silent failures.
  • Can't do: Watch continuously or create alert rules from chat. Set rules in Settings › Alert Settings.

"Compare offline devices with offline alerts for the last 7 days."

7. Reports and audit

  • Best at: Show who changed something and what it was before, who created a user, and audit trends. Export access events or users as a CSV, and draw charts.
  • Can't do: Take screenshots of the app.

"Who changed the Management schedule, and what was it before?"

8. Visitors

  • Best at: List visitors by host, create visitors on a visitor schedule, extend their access, give them a card, and count visitors by host.
  • Can't do: Add visitors to user groups (visitors use visitor schedules), or create a visitor without an email or phone.

"Create a visitor Alex Smith, alex@example.com, on the Lobby visitor schedule from tomorrow 9 AM to 5 PM."

9. Sites, zones and elevators

  • Best at: List sites and their devices, create zones, move devices between zones, list elevator floors, and show which floors a group can reach.
  • Can't do: Give a group a floor directly (floors are granted through schedules), or delete a floor that's still mapped or scheduled.

"Which floors can the Management group reach?"

10. Watchlists and intercom

  • Best at: List persons and plates of interest, show watchlist detections on a camera, add a person from an attached photo, and report intercom calls by result or hour.
  • Can't do: Search "the list" without naming the watchlist; say "watchlist" or "plates of interest".

"Is plate ABC123 on the license plates of interest watchlist?"

11. Bulk operations and imports

  • Best at: Create or update hundreds of users, give cards or PINs to a group, send selfie links, suspend users by filter, extend visitors, and import users or Mercury doors from an Excel or CSV file, all from one request. See Bulk Importing Users and Doors with Aimee.

"Give me a CSV template I can fill in to bulk-add users with cards and access groups."

12. Investigations and checkups

  • Best at: Run a ranked system checkup, find after-hours access, check visitors with no valid access, and build a timeline of where a user was today from door events and face sightings.
  • Can't do: Answer vague questions like "is anything wrong?" well; give a scope and time frame.

"Run a full system checkup and list anything that needs attention, ranked by priority."
